Navigating your way around Blue Lagoon
Exploring the Blue Lagoon is simple once you understand the flow of the facility. After entering through the main reception, start by taking a dip in the lagoon’s warm, milky-blue waters. Most people spend the first hour drifting between the silica mask bar, the waterfall area, and the quiet corners tucked behind lava walls. From here, follow the clearly marked paths to the sauna, steam rooms, and relaxation areas before circling back to the central lagoon deck.
Parking is available right outside the entrance. The scenery around the facility is striking. You’ll see black lava fields stretch in every direction, and on clear days you can spot ridges connected to the Fagradalsfjall volcanic system just beyond the horizon.
Cafés, a swim-up bar, and the on-site Lava Restaurant offer plenty of options to refuel, while the Retreat Hotel and Silica Hotel provide easy stays for those planning a longer soak.
